70° Grad Nord - is an expedition to the Gunnbjoerns Fjell, the highest mountain in Greenland.

The expedition members Peter Huettel, Ralf Hewelcke and Michael Huebner startet at the beginning of April 2002 with a traditional Greenlanders dog sled to the Gunnbjoerns Fjell. With its altitude of 3700 meters it is not only the highest mountain in Greenland, but also the largest mountain of the northern polar region. Within 50 days they will cover the distance of more than 1000 kilometers through ice and rock. For the first time in the history of the Greenland expeditions a team of climbers will master this enterprise with dog sleds.
In 2002 they had to give up because of bad weather conditions, but they will start again next year!
